Princess Diana Remembered

It's a story that has captivated people for decades, and it's intensified now at the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. From the moment she entered the public eye when Prince Charles began courting her in the early 80's, to the most lavish marriage ceremony most have ever witnessed, to the public breakup and divorce in 1996, and her tragic death a year later on Aug. 31, 1997, Princess Diana has riveted the public's attention.

We've put together a photo gallery remembering Princess Diana. It's a retrospective gallery of Diana's life, using photos that show her transformation from her teen years through her marriage and divorce and her fateful trip to France with Dodi Al Fayed. It also highlights some of the things she was known for – her compassion to the sick and injured, her love of her sons, and how the public was transfixed by her.

Take a moment to look through our Remembering Diana gallery in AOL Visions. And check out some of the other links there for additional coverage on AOL.

The Lady Diana is still  one of the most loved persons, no matter what year it is!  her genuine kindness and caring  for those  who ae sometimes forgotten or lost in this busy  and fast paced world. some of us can't keep up.  She gave it her all without support from the royals.  All they were interested in  were heirs to the throne and even when she fullfilled that , she still wasn't truly accepted or part of that cold family.  I am thankfull for the time she had on earth when she found herself and was content and happy and finaly satisfyed with herself. minx

Diana was so young and naive when she married into the Royal Family. In my opinion she was definitely sold a bill of goods, as my late father would have said. Phillip knew that the only way he could father a child would be with a younger woman. Someone told him of Diana or either he knew of her previously, being a young girl from the right side of the tracks, educated and beautiful and all of you know the rest of the story. I truly believe Diana fell very much in love with Phillip and she believed he truly loved her and they would live happily ever after. She wanted children just as much as he, but his was for much different circumstances. I can't imagine how hurt she was when she came to the full realization that she had been used as she had for having children with no love on Phillip's part. Phillip was very cruel to play this role like he did with her and then turn his back and treat her so cruely after she had given him such wonderful sons. In my opinion she didn't deserve it and was lucky to be rid of him, sadly there was no happy ending for her and I think that is what upset all her friends and fans so deeply. None of us can forget her, She was a ideal Royal and should have had a fabulous and rewarding life instead of being taken so young and the boys losing such a wonderful and loving mother. MissyLindy...
